Surprise guests can break a holiday party, but they can make a holiday special - what surprises should viewers be on the lookout for?

Look forward to an opportunity to laugh with your family and have some good holiday cheer. I'm actually quite excited to not talk about politics during this special. Also, I'm hoping to be able to build out a nice tune with Craig Robinson.

There are promises of comedy AND music - which holiday song should be banned forever?

The 12 Days of Christmas. The majority of that song is just birds and jewelry, and I don't know anyone who wants birds and jewelry for Christmas. There are swans and geese and doves...when you look at that song, it's just a series of increasingly terrible Christmas gifts. Feliz Navidad is the best Christmas song ever.

What's harder, writing political jokes for America in an election year or writing family-friendly material for a holiday show while everyone is stressed out?

I think it is much more difficult to write a stress-free holiday show when people are stressed than it is to simply acknowledge everything that is stressing people.

Since you are CNN talent, you are basically a serious journalist, so can you settle a serious fact check once and for all? Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Not only is Die Hard a Christmas movie but Die Hard 2 is also a Christmas movie. In fact, near the end of the movie Dennis Franz's character looks at Bruce Willis and literally says it's Christmas time.
