| Get ready to laugh at the headlines once again — CNN's Have I Got News For You returns for its third season tonight. Host Roy Wood Jr. and team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black are back to take on the week's biggest stories with irreverent, sharp humor, all while joined by a rotating cast of guests for quick-fire games and spirited panel debates. Ahead of the premiere, we spoke with showrunner Jim Biederman for an exclusive Q&A. | What can viewers expect from this season of Have I Got News for You? We take our job very seriously, which is to be as unserious about the news as possible. And as America faces an endless barrage of stress tests, we plan to be there week in and week out faithfully shining a light on it all. It's the most American thing we could do! We are also looking forward to some very special guests coming to play with us as we break down the news and make sense of the crazy. Thinking back, how has the US version of the show evolved since its launch in 2024? We are very mindful of the HIGNFY's British DNA — the show has been a hit for 35 years on the BBC. I think we've built on that success and also made it feel very much like an American version. And a HUGE part of that success is our cast: Roy Wood Jr., Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black are the dream team of comedy. Are there any unifying themes or subject matters you hope to explore? Our lawyers are advising us to just answer this with "yes." | |
