CNN is bringing comedy to the network and, no, your eyes are not deceiving you.

Acclaimed comedian and Emmy® Award nominee Roy Wood Jr. hosts the comedy quiz show Have I Got News For You, the much-anticipated American version of the long-running BBC comedy series, along with two dynamic team captains: Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black. We caught up with Roy to see how he really feels about his new gig.

What should viewers expect to see on Have I Got News For You?

We are going to kick back and laugh at everything that has happened in the week, not only in politics but also in the news in general. Saturday is the perfect day for this. That's what weekends are for. Resting one day, praying to whomever you pray to the other day, and then Monday getting back on the horrific rollercoaster.

Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black are the team captains. Be honest, whose team are you rooting for?

I think asking me a question that forces me to choose between a black woman and a white man is part of the divisiveness that is dividing our country right now. In November, voters are going to have to ask themselves this very same question. I will not fall victim to this shoddy election poll question.
